Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of the takRide platform, operated by takRide Holdings (Pty) Ltd ("takRide", "we", "us"), including our rider and driver apps and this website. By creating an account or using takRide, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use takRide. Drivers must additionally hold a valid driver's licence and meet our verification requirements.

The service

takRide is a technology platform that connects riders seeking transport with independent drivers offering it. takRide facilitates matching, fare calculation, navigation, and payment. Drivers are independent operators, not employees of takRide.

Rider terms

  • Fares are shown before you confirm a trip; by confirming you agree to pay the displayed fare.
  • You agree to provide accurate pickup and destination information.
  • You are responsible for your conduct during trips and for any damage you cause.
  • takPoints have no cash value except as an in-app discount and may not be sold or transferred.

Driver terms

  • You must maintain a valid licence, roadworthy vehicle, and any legally required permits or insurance.
  • You keep 89% of each fare; takRide retains an 11% commission, drawn from your commission credit balance.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes, vehicle costs, and compliance with local transport regulations.
  • You agree to treat riders professionally and to follow takRide's safety guidelines.

Payments & fees

Fares may be paid in cash directly to the driver or digitally through the app. takRide's commission is a flat 11% of the fare. Drivers maintain a prepaid commission credit balance from which commission is deducted. Digital earnings are settled to drivers on a recurring basis. Promotional discounts, where offered, are applied at booking.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the platform, including by providing false information, harassing others, using takRide for unlawful purposes, attempting to circumvent fees, or interfering with the operation of the service. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.

Liability

takRide provides the platform "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, takRide is not liable for the acts or omissions of independent drivers or riders, for indirect or consequential losses, or for events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Termination

You may stop using takRide and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are breached or where required to protect users or comply with law.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
